NEWSLETTER Monday 29th October 2012

Well! All the excitement is over; we now have a Mr. and a Mrs. Kyles on the School Staff and a new half-term ahead of us. As I am sure you will have heard, the children had made a beautiful card for the happy couple, who received it from Ivy and Rebecca on the Friday morning; later that day, there were many interested spectators as the marquee went up! And the rest – you all know about!

Earlier that week, we had visitors from Lucton School: the Head Boy and Head Girl, resplendent in their cadet uniforms, told us of some of their very interesting experiences and answered some very good questions from our pupils, who were particularly impressed by the ceremonial sword that they brought with them and the facts that Iona had met the Queen and Henry had climbed a mountain in Africa! May I draw attention to two events, not organised by the School, but in very worthy causes.

On Saturday, 10th November, the local ‘Save the Children’ group is holding a coffee morning in the Cedar Hall and on Saturday, 17th November, there will be a another coffee morning, this time in the Crown Inn, to support the 2012 Dilwyn village charity – the Air Ambulance. Among other attractions, there will be plenty of delicious cakes..! On Monday 12th November, there will be an OPEN MORNING, when you are invited to come in at any time between 9.00 and 12.00 noon, for as long as you wish, to give you an opportunity to see the School in action and talk to the teachers about the work that the children are doing. Although we realise that this may not be a convenient time for you all, we do hope that as many as possible will be able to manage it.

Please visit the homepage for dates for the diary.
