Principal’s Corner
It has been a busy half term with much going on in the school. Reception pupils’ progress and development can now be seen by their parents in an Online Learning Journal called Tapestry. It was World Book Day in March and pupils dressed up and took part in literacy activities throughout the day. “Reading is to the brain what exercise is to the body”. Talking of which many thanks must go to Mike and Mark in preparing the Juniors for the Luctonian’s Tag fest. It was in 1461 during the War of the Roses that the last great battle occurred on Mortimer Park. Congratulations to both teams. The Dragons (Blues) reached the semifinals where they narrowly and unluckily lost, while the Knights (Reds) made it to the quarter-finals.
Music has always formed an important part of our curriculum and this culminated in an infants percussion and a Years 5 & 6 saxophone and clarinet musical ensemble during our Easter Service. Well done to all the musicians.
Finally, this term was a first; girls managed to top the House Point charts in the infants, Year 3&4 and Year 5&6. Well done Ivy, Lily and Berry but come on boys,
