'Where Teaching & Learning Matter’

Principal’s Corner
The Summer Term is upon us and we are still waiting for the weather to start warming up. Below is a picture of the Upper Juniors playing their flutes at the Easter Service in the Church. The Easter quiz was a great success and congratulations go to the Tisdales who scored a maximum 38 and the Littles who scored 37. It would seem that some families know more about chocolates than about the Easter story. This half term the Infants have been studying living things and (fingers crossed) eggs will start to hatch. The frog spawn has hatched and the tadpoles are developing. The Lower Juniors have moved from the Vikings to the Greeks and have been learning about their advanced civilisation and their gods. Greek urns will be appearing shortly. The Upper Juniors are now working hard and focussing on their SATs which start on the 14th May. They are also learning about sustainable ag-riculture and will be soon visiting Leen Farm.
At Easter the old Victorian floor (1872) was removed. Mrs Kyles is balancing on the old stone supports. Below you can see the Infants enjoying their new surroundings.

Well done to the Tagfest squad who got to the final and lost by one point. Many thanks go to Mark, Allie and Mike who have established Rugby in the school over the past few years. Juniors have finished swimming and it is back to the Infants. Congratulations go to Joe who has achieved a green badge and Sophie & Daniella who have both achieved blue badges. Mike’s Sports Club contin-ues to be a great success on Mondays after school.
The infants will also start dance and gymnastics later in the term.
