Principal’s Corner

The first half of the Autumn Term has been busy and teaching and learning are in full flow. The new pupils have settled in well and are starting to learn their sounds and words. This is a key time and sets the foundations for reading, so thank you for your help and support at home. It is very much appreciated.
We had a well attended Harvest Festival. The food given will be passed on by the very appreciative church to the poor and the local food bank.
In the classroom the Infants have been studying Paddington while the Lower Juniors have been studying Stone Age life. The Upper Juniors have been focusing on what it means to be a Muslim in Britain today and Tudor Exploration.
Finally on 9th November we remember those that died in World War 1. Twenty seven young men from this village gave up their lives to preserve our way of life. A sacrifice that was a disaster to the families left behind to mourn.
‘We will remember them’

This half term the Infants have been swimming. Congratulations to all the children for their hard effort. After the break the Juniors will swim until the 21st December.
A fortnight ago Dilwyn football team played Almeley. Of course Mike’s warriors won 4-3. All played exceptionally well and were a credit to the school. Ruben, on loan from Liverpool scored all the goals and Kyle was a fearless hero in goal.
