Principal’s Corner
On Friday 25th January the school boat sailed in. The outdoor play boat was bought with kind donations from FOSM and a kind donation from a former pupil. Well, me hearties much fun and fantasy has been inspired so well done to all you land lubbers. A name the boat competition has been held and 'Betsy Blue' has been chosen so well done to Jessica Bolton. The Spring Term is now in full flow. The Infants have been making Epiphany King cakes and producing art work inspired by the story of The Nightingale and Emperor. The nightingale only sings when he is set free. A good moral about the importance of FREEDOM.
The Lower Juniors have been studying the Romans and their impact on Britain. The topic included producing Power-Points in IT (you can just see Kitty & Eden) and cooking ‘Tiger Nut Sweets’. The recipe was found written on a piece of Roman pottery and includes dates, walnuts, almonds and honey. Yummy, yummy, no wonder Niks is looking so excited.
The Upper Juniors have been studying Shakespeare's Macbeth. A fantastic display can be seen in the corridor and hopefully some bards work will appear in the village magazine. The Upper Juniors are gaining an insight to life into Stuart Times; Gun Powder Plot; the beheading of a monarch; Cromwell; the Bubonic Plague and the great fire of London. Wow and you think much is happening in the world today!
Finally, we are planning a summer trip to the Black Country Museum in early July and also Mrs Sherwood is hoping to start a Junior Clarinet and Saxophone Club during Friday lunchtimes.

In swimming the Infants have worked hard and congratulations go to Georgia who has achieved her Red Badge, Jessica, Tabitha, Freya & Fearne who have achieved their Green and Michal & Maisie who have achieved their Yellow badges. Next Half Term it’s the turn of the Juniors. Mon-day Sports Club (weather permitting) will continue.
