Principal’s Corner
October is here, the leaves are falling and the crops have been gathered. At this time of year we have been celebrating the Harvest, as the village children have been celebrating for 174 years. The children have also been thinking about those in our world who are less fortunate than ourselves. The produce we collected will be delivered to the Leominster Food Bank and will help the less fortunate. In early October we had a visit from SIAMs (Church Inspectors). They thought the children’s behaviour and knowledge was excellent and that worship within the school was very good. Here are a couple of quotes from the report. “The school lives out its belief that we are all children of God, wonderfully made, dearly loved and precious in his sight.” “Worship is a strength of the school, which is enjoyed by all members of the school family.” “Religious education (RE) is an important subject in the school. Pupils enjoy learning about other faiths and cultures through monthly themes.”

The friends of the school have been working hard, £154 was received from Rags to Riches. These collections not only raises funds, but also promotes the importance of recycling. Well done to FOSMS! Trips have been booked for next year and in the current economic climate the funds will be very welcome and put to good use. In the infant classroom the Fire of London has been put out and hot turns to cold and the Penguins will be make an appearance. In the Lower Juniors Mrs Goad is looking into Viking culture and in the Upper Juniors Natural Disasters with Mrs Eckley are the order of the day.

Mike’s Sports Club continues to be a great success and will continue to the end of term. The Infants are enjoying Thursdays Sports Club and as you can see they have just received their session certificates.
This term the Infants have been swimming and after half term its the Juniors until Friday 20th December.
